English expression - 2025.03.30 Saturday 토요일

 2025.03.30 Saturday 토요일

We set goal, we analyze problem, we construct and we adhere to plans,

and more than anything else, we stress efficiency - and short-term performance.

Don't get me wrong,

this is a splendidly practical and effective way of addressing relatively simple challenges, in relatively stable environments.

* Splendidly 아주,  relatively 상대적으로,  simply 단순한

Group think means that to preserve the harmony of the group, or the conformity in the group.

* conformity 순응

Memebers of this group or of this team will actually try to minimize conflict and reach a consensus without critical evalutaion of alternative view points.

* reach a consensus 합의에 이르다,  minimize conflict and reach a consensus 갈등을 최소화하고 합의에 이르다

Or even by oppressing or suppressing differing opinions from inside or outside the group.

* 혹은 심지어 그룹 내외의 다른 의견을 탄압하거나 억압함으로써도

* symbiosis (≒close relationship) 공생관계,  myco 균,  trade for mutual benifits 상호이익을 위해 교환하다,  reach a consensus 합의에 이르다,  adhere to B B를 준수하다, 고수하다,  mutual benefti 상호이익

It's a good to have you back. You're improving. but you need to focus on article usage ("a good strategy," not "good strategy") and proper verb patterns ("provide our customer with," not "provide with our customer"). Also, pay attention to countable and un countable nouns-"features" instead of "feature." Try incorporating more idioms like "a cut above the rest" to make your English sound more natural. Keep practicing!

* "a cut above the rest"는 어떤 것이 "다른 것들보다 한 수 위". 즉, 특정 물건, 사람, 또는 무언가가 다른 것들과 비교했을 때 더 뛰어나거나 우수하다는 의미로 사용.

예를 들어:

  • "This restaurant is truly a cut above the rest." (이 레스토랑은 정말 다른 곳들보다 한 수 위야.)
  • "Her skills in painting are a cut above the rest." (그녀의 그림 실력은 다른 사람들보다 한층 뛰어나다.)

1.  The phrase "all the time" suggests something happens continuously, but "Don't remeber" is a negative statement that contradicts it. A clearer way to espress this idea is "I never remember," which correctly conveys thta forgetting happens all the time.

2. When refering to a specific department, we need "the" before "sales department" to indicate thatit is a known, definite entity.

3. "Provide" follows a specific structure: "provide someone with something." The original sentence incorrectly places "with" before the indirect object ("customer"). The correct structure is "I provide our customers  with (sth)."

1) All the time, I don't remember.

=> I never remember all the time.

2) I'm in charge of sales department.

=> I'm in charge of the sales department.

3) I provide with our customer.

=> I provide our customers with B.

"A cut above the rest" This idiom means something is significantly better than similar things. Using it emphasizes that the product is superior in both performance and design.

1. This product has the best performance and unique design.

=> This product is a cut above the rest in performance and design.
