Key Achievements and Partnerships
- Partnership with Renault: In 2021, Verkor signed a long-term partnership agreement with Renault. Starting in the second half of 2025, Verkor will supply 12 GWh of batteries annually for Renault's premium electric vehicles.
- Factory Construction: The construction of Verkor's gigafactory is led by Groupe Eiffage, a major French construction and engineering company.
- Collaboration with Wonik PNE: Wonik PNE supplies Verkor with turnkey equipment for battery cell pre-charging, degassing, formation, folding, and IR OCV voltage measurement processes.
- Collaboration with Hanatech: Hanatech has supplied high-speed battery stacking equipment to Verkor, targeting pouch-type batteries.
- Collaboration with Geumyang: Geumyang has supplied battery manufacturing equipment to Verkor's Dunkerque gigafactory project, including mixing equipment.
European Gigafactory Status
- ACC (Automotive Cells Company): Another battery manufacturer in France with a gigafactory in the same region as Verkor.
Verkor is a French startup founded in 2020 and is the third battery manufacturer in Europe to build a gigafactory. The company plans to produce battery cells for 300,000 electric vehicles annually at its gigafactory located in Dunkerque, northern France.
Verkor primarily focuses on the production of pouch cells and has recently accelerated the development and production of cylindrical cells.
